They are highly cherished for their quick-drying properties and surprisingly soft texture, making them a suitable option for daily use. ### Advantages 1. **Affordability**: These towels provide excellent value for their price, making them a great investment for everyday use. 2. **Softness**: Despite the cost, they offer a soft texture that remains consistent even after multiple washes . 3. **Quick Drying**: The towels dry rapidly between uses, which is ideal for busy households . 4. **Durability**: Users report that the towels maintain their integrity through numerous wash cycles, resisting fraying and unraveling at the seams . 5. **Simple Design**: With no patterned band, the entire surface is usable, enhancing practicality . 6. **Absorbency**: They absorb water well right from the first use, eliminating the need for multiple pre-washes . 7. **Versatility**: Their size and softness make them suitable for a variety of uses, from showering to handwashing clothes . 8. **Minimal Shed**: Unlike some colored counterparts, the white towels shed little, maintaining cleanliness in washing scenarios . 9. **Consistency in Quality**: The quality remains steady across different colors, despite occasional shedding issues with darker shades . 10. **Color Options**: Although not decorative, there are color options available, such as a grey-green, which provides some variety . ### Disadvantages 1. **Shed with Color Variations**: Non-white towels may shed significantly after the first wash . 2. **Size Misconception**: Advertised as “bath sheets,” but users find them smaller than expected . 3. **Thinness**: The towels are thinner than premium options, which may reduce their absorbent capacity compared to thicker towels . 4. **Tag Placement**: Some users find the tags annoying and unnecessary . 5. **Initial Odor**: Some users might experience an initial odor, recommending a preliminary gentle wash . 6. **Color Fading**: Non-white towels can darken slightly after washing . 7. **Misleading Descriptions**: Some users may find the description of the towel's width and thickness misleading . 8. **Lesser Premium Feel**: These towels lack the hefty, luxurious feel that more expensive towels provide . 9. **Limited Design Options**: For those looking for decorative towels, these may appear too plain . 10. **Absorbency for Thicker Towels Users**: For those used to ultra-thick towels, these might feel less absorbent . ### Conclusion The Amazon Basics - 2 Piece Quick-Dry Oversize Bath Towel presents an affordable and practical option for those in need of everyday towels. Their soft texture, quick-drying ability, and durability make them a commendable choice. While they may not satisfy those in search of luxurious, thick towels, they excel in regular usage, ease of maintenance, and overall economy. ### Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) 1. **Are these towels really oversized?** - The towels measure 62" x 30", which provides ample coverage, though they may not be as large as some bath sheets. 2. **Do these towels shed after washing?** - The white ones typically do not shed, but non-white towels may shed initially; a wash cycle alone can often resolve this . 3. **How do these towels hold up after multiple washes?** - These towels are praised for maintaining their softness and structural integrity even after numerous washes . 4. **Are they suitable for use on delicate items when handwashing?** - Yes, their softness and absorbency make them suitable for gently handling delicate fabrics . 5. **What gsm are these towels?** - Although the exact gsm is not specified, users find them thinner than more expensive, heavier options . 6. **Will the colors fade with time?** - The white towels maintain their color, but colored ones may darken slightly after washing . 7. **Is there a chemical odor upon opening?** - An initial wash is recommended to eliminate any potential odor from packaging . 8. **Can these towels be used decoratively in a bathroom?** - While designed more for function than form, they come in various colors to match basic bathroom decor . 9. **Are these suitable for gift-giving?** - Yes, given their functionality and decent quality, they can make a practical gift . 10. **Do the towels remain soft without using fabric softener?** - Users report they remain soft even without fabric softener, after washing in hot water .

Title: A Very Positive Review I Didn't Expect to be Writing... and a Green Yak in the washing machine
Content: I had gotten these for one purpose only - to use with handwashing. Roll the sweater in a white towel, put it out to dry on my new super-duper drying rack. Simple. Nothing special required, no expectations other than basic cotton towels. Cheap. White. Who cares, right? So imagine my surprise when these turned out to be nicer than expected - so much so, in fact, that they got promoted to potential shower towel, and then that worked out so well, I'm now using them daily. I've dumped my much thicker and not wearing well Turkish towels, and they got the new handwashing gig. I'll be using these for showering to see how they hold up, but a few weeks in, a few washes behind them, and they're worthy of a positive review. UPDATED TO ADD: I decided to get the green ones since they were on super sale. Same towel, should be as good, and I don't use towels for bathroom decor, so I don't care (as much) about what color they are (I don't do dark towels ever - many reasons). I'd describe the green as a grey-green, not unpleasant, but if you do care about the color, be aware that these are nothing close to a warm green. It also darkened a bit after washing, go figure, and it definitely needed to be washed before use. The biggest issue with these latest towels is the amount of shedding from one gentle soak (to get rid of odor) and then a gentle wash. Yowza! It looked like someone washed a green yak in there. The white towels didn't shed at all this way, so I was totally unprepared for my newest washer pet. I had stupidly added some other small pieces in with the towels. BIG MISTAKE. Now they're covered in what looks like green yak fur, too. The towels did come out just as fluffy and usable as the white ones, so not changing the rating, but caveat emptor - expect shedding, wash these alone at least once, and do NOT wash them with anything else.

Title: Lighter Weight But Really Soft
Content: A while back, (May 2019) I purchased three different brands of washcloths trying to find the "best" for me. These from Amazon were the cheapest and, not surprisingly, they are thinner and lighter weight than the others. For reference, the mid-priced cloths are 650 gsm while the most expensive are 900 gsm. I don't know what the gsm for these would be, but I feel confident saying it is most likely 500 or less. The only thing I really disliked was the tags they put on them, so those came off immediately after I washed them. I cut a slit close to the seam where they were attached, then ripped off the tag while pressing down firmly on the seam with the other hand to prevent breaking the thread. They've been washed dozens of times now and there has been no fraying or unraveling of the side seams. There has also been no breaking of the loops that make up the washcloths. There isn't a single thread dangling on any of them. I discovered I like these best for washing my face. Like all our towels, I wash in HOT water with regular detergent and NO FABRIC SOFTNER yet they've remained softer in texture than any of the others. Being thinner, they are easier to rinse and wring out and they dry rapidly. Even after air drying, they aren't stiff when I collect them to place in the laundry basket for laundering. That's something I've not experienced before. For me, the mid-weight work best when bathing and the super-premium are simply too thick and heavy for me when they get wet. They do well absorbing lots of water for drying, but that is what towels are for so they rarely get used. I also don't care for the patterned band on those because it reduces the "useful" area of the washcloth. So, that's what works for me- I hope this helps you decide what might be best for you.

I like that there isn't a design running through the middle of them so you can use the entire surface. I like that they're 100% cotton, that they're thick enough to feel soft on the skin and that they're not so thick that they take forever to dry. I'm very pleased with them.

Title: Amazon Basics cotton wash clothes are the BEST and softest I have ever used!!
Content: I love Amazon basics wash cloths, they are so soft even after they are washed and dried. They dry quickly after each use and still stay soft. I'm 80 and I always buy the best sheets, towels and wash cloths no matter the price. But these were the best price and quality I've ever owned. So pleased with my purchase.

Title: Smaller than I hoped, but soft and absorbent
Content: These are advertised as “bath sheets” so I expected them to be wider and bigger. I should have checked the dimensions more carefully. They are actually smaller than the regular towels I have. That said, they are soft and absorbent, and they dry fairly quickly. The color is nice, and as shown.

Title: These are perfect wash clothes!
Content: Really like these new wash clothes. After washing them they became fuller. Just right for washing face and to use in the shower. There are tags on them. Didn't take them off yet. Probably won't. Especially like them because they are not too thick and not too thin. Would recommend these. They also are quite pretty.

Title: Much nicer than expected
Content: Several reviews said these washcloths were thin. I don't think so. They're not luxuriously thick but they're certainly not thin. I think they're perfect. I like that there isn't a design running through the middle of them so you can use the entire surface. I like that they're 100% cotton, that they're thick enough to feel soft on the skin and that they're not so thick that they take forever to dry. I'm very pleased with them.
