I purchased this item over similar competitors for two reasons: 1) walnut/darker wood tone, 2) wood back for iPad/book/phone. Lighter colored bamboo products look cheap to me, so I wanted something with a darker tone. Very few options at this price point, unless you get into a quality Teak item at 4x the cost. I also don’t like how most of the competition has a fabric type of back for the iPad/book holder. It looks cheap and seems like it’d present a mold issue. This product is a good value for the money. But manage your expectations — it’s less than $40. The cheap bamboo construction is not substantial, the staining on the wood isn’t evenly applied and parts of the construction are not 100% even and well produced. My item came with some splintering and cracking, but not so much as I’d care to return. This is not an heirloom piece, much less something you’ll probably have in 5 years. Overall, this fits the bill for what I wanted at the price point I wanted to spend. If, for whatever reason, this item doesn’t hold up long, I’d likely repurchase.
