I went ahead and washed & dried it and it came out fine. I'm hoping it will soften more with time as cotton does. It's not scratchy or anything but just feels new. I did see a few loose threads after washing and drying, but it is not unraveling or anything. I guess time will tell about the quality. I got this on sale for around $60-$69. Given the prices and inflation, i am satisfied with the sale price but i wouldn't pay more for it. However, i absolutely love it and most of all, my 2 1/2 year old really loves it too and that is most important :) She fluffed the unicorn pillow and brought the blanket to her room. She seemed to know it was for her and her bed lol. Happy baby makes a happy mama.
