It is really well stitched, no hanging threads, not too warm, so I wouldn’t recommend for winter. I do use it for cover at night time but I also use the flat sheet for the bedding so it makes it warmer. I liked it

The shams I will resize as they are kingsized. The pretty design is embossed not stitched and the spread is lightweight. None of that bothers me. I am happy with it.
