Content: The chimney sweep works as advertised except two of the sections detent button would not hold properly and that section would come apart. Luckily I realized the problem and used those two sections last incase the came apart in use, I could recover them from my chimney.

Content: This is very self explanatory and goes together very easily. It comes with extra plastic string when the first ones wear out. I used it on a traditional brick fireplace. I had plenty of length and didn’t use all of the rods. Once I got everything hooked together and slide it down to the bottom; I started up the eater with cordless drill and it whipped the inside of the chimney into shape quick. I did hold the rod to direct it back and forth to help get all sides. Beware though if your drill isn’t held tight…it will fly out of your hands. I didn't get caught up on anything when running the whip eater up and down the inside of the chimney but why what a difference it made. I definitely recommend NOT to forget taping off the front of the fireplace. I would RECOMMEND placing wet/dry vac hose inside under the plastic into the fireplace and taping around it. The vac makes a big difference pulling everything down inside of it coming up in your face. I still wore goggles and respirator because the particulates if inhaled are super toxic to the lungs. This product was well worth the price I paid and nothing popped off leaving me to fish it out and wasting my time. Happy times!!

Content: This is a very good chimney sweep kit. I have had several of these over the years and this one did concern me at 1st with what appeared to be lack of bristles, but quickly made my concerns disappear. The rods extensions are very flexible and the drill attachment is a HUGE positive. This kit even arrived with extra bristles for replacement so I absolutely recommend this set it was not only easy to use but increadebly effective.

Content: These rods are made of fairly stiff plastic. If you are cleaning your chimney from the top, and pushing down, they'll probably work OK. However, if you want to clean through your fireplace/woodstove pushing up, you will need to bend the rods 90 degrees as you push up (just as shown in the description images). The PROBLEM is, that the rods are stiff and will break if bent that much. I broke 4 of the 10 provided rods before I gave up and put them back in the box to return to Amazon.

I used a drop cloth, and had my ash vac constantly running to suck up the fine ash. Drill attachment and all connections were a breeze to lock and unlock. A little messy, but saved some solid cabbage, and have to say the chimney sweeper never seemed to remove the amount that this gismo did, cordless drill is a must and makes it much easier.
