Content: Bought this for a 7-1/4 Dutch oven used for baking bread at high temperature in the oven. I got tired of swapping it out with a small metal knob that came on another pot. The metal knob is essential for high heat oven cooking and it somewhat expensive (not compared to Le Creuset cookware) and classy looking. A significant benefit of the large metal knob is it's shape which moves the end of the knob further away from the lid allowing for a much better grip, essential when wearing oven mitts, but just general handling. Mounted to the lid, the knob is taller. On big heavy pot lids, it looks fabulous and is very practical. I'm contemplating replacing all my big pot lids. I have $3000 in Le Creuset, much of it older bought at good prices, so a couple of hundred in metal knobs for a dramatic and practical upgrade to my cookware seems like a bargain. A stainless steel replacement screw comes with the knob in official Le Creuset packaging.

Now on to the product...the knob is beautiful and fits my LC pot perfectly. Matches with the rest of my gold knobs. Makes me so happy to be cooking with such elegant looking pieces!
