This grate is a disappointment. I can't return it because I'm outside of the return window. There's no reason this grate should have fallen apart like it did after 7 weeks of use. I just wasted $72 of my hard earned money for nothing. I would not recommend it. POST NOTE: The selling company graciously replaced the original grate with a new one. Content: Product is solid. After seeing warpage in my last two racks from the local big box store (I like big hot fires!) this one is holding up without a sign of movement due to heat. So far a much better value than local options

Title: Revised Review - Grate was Replaced with a Quality Grate
Content: I bought this grate on January 16th and received it on January 25, 2023. By March 17th, it had disintegrated. The fire brick in the fireplace is rated to 1,200 degrees, so I know the fire inside the box never got anywhere close to that temperature or the entire box would have come apart and burned my structure to the ground. This grate is a disappointment. I can't return it because I'm outside of the return window. There's no reason this grate should have fallen apart like it did after 7 weeks of use. I just wasted $72 of my hard earned money for nothing. I would not recommend it. POST NOTE: The selling company graciously replaced the original grate with a new one. This one is holding up very well. I've revised my review accordingly. It's good to see a vendor make good on a defective product. Thank you Ella in their customer service department.

Content: We purchased this as a replacement for our small fireplace and it looked like a great replacement. We burn approximately 1/2 cord of wood per season and do not use the fireplace for heating our home or anything like that. Fast forward 2 seasons and the grate has basically disintegrated and half of it has melted into nothing (see photos). As such I can't recommend this product for actual use in a fireplace as I'd expect a $70 "solid steel heavy duty" fireplace grate to survive longer than this one did.
Title: Fit Well in Fireplace Insert Box
Content: My insert box measures 24 inches across the front and is 12 inches deep. I ordered the 21 inch grate. Grate Pretty much fills the box. Good quality and looks durable. Hoping this lasts a lot of seasons. Height will allow plenty of “draw” between the floor and wood. Height will make it harder to place “logs” in insert. And to clean box, grate will have to cool down enough to be removed. Problem in that I rely on my fireplace as a heat source during the winter. May have to replace my old insert … lol
