At an accessible price point, it promises to be a reliable addition to your decorative toolkit. **Advantages** 1. **Affordable Price**: At only $13.99, the mist maker offers great value, particularly for those looking to enhance home or event decorations without breaking the bank. 2. **Quick Setup**: The device is simple to use, requiring just a bowl of water and a plug-in to start operating, making it user-friendly for everyone. 3. **Compact Size**: Its small size allows it to be placed in various locations, making it versatile for different decorative setups. 4. **Visual Appeal**: The fogger's LED lights cycle through a variety of colors, adding an extra layer of visual interest to its misting effect. 5. **Good Mist Production**: Users report good fog output suitable for creating atmospheric effects in small spaces or accents in larger displays. 6. **Durable Construction**: Several users have noted that, despite concerns over durability, their units have lasted upwards of a year or more with proper care. 7. **Water Level Adjustment**: The mist intensity can be controlled by adjusting the water level, offering customization for desired effects. 8. **Replacement for Older Models**: Serves as a solid replacement for older models, especially noted in reviews as a suitable substitute for brand-specific devices. 9. **Vibrant Lighting**: Offers a bright and dynamic lighting effect, which enhances the fog effect, especially in dark ambient environments. 10. **Fun Factor**: Perfect for themed parties, the device adds an elevated fun factor, particularly cited for Halloween decorations. **Disadvantages** 1. **No On/Off Switch**: The absence of an on/off switch can be inconvenient, necessitating manual unplugging or using a timer plug. 2. **Sensitive to Water Levels**: Requires precise water levels for optimal functionality — too much or too little water affects its performance. 3. **No Color Customization**: LED colors rotate automatically without an option to set a specific color, which some users found disappointing. 4. **Splashing Issue**: The machine can cause water splashes, which may necessitate the use of a splash guard. 5. **Durability Concerns**: Some users reported early failures, especially with extended use or improper care. 6. **Condensation Mess**: The mist’s condensation can result in wet surfaces, needing careful placement to avoid water damage. 7. **Noisy Operation**: A few reviews mention the device may produce noise while in operation. 8. **Potential Shock Hazard**: Reports of shocking incidents emphasize the need for caution and adherence to safety guidelines. 9. **Inconsistent Quality**: Some users experienced functional issues, such as difficulty starting without re-plugging. 10. **Limited Usage Environment**: Effectiveness can be reduced outdoors or in windy conditions due to heavy mist dissipation. **Conclusion** Overall, the PULACO Mist Maker is a cost-effective and engaging tool for creating atmospheric effects at parties or in themed home settings. While it brings creative versatility and a touch of mystique through its vibrant lighting and fog production, potential buyers should consider its limitations, such as the lack of customizable lighting and the need for careful placement and maintenance to avoid operational issues. Nonetheless, for those seeking an affordable way to enhance decor, this mist maker presents a charming option. **FAQ** 1. **Can the PULACO Mist Maker be used outdoors?** - While it can be used outdoors, effectiveness is limited by wind, which disperses the heavy mist quickly. 2. **How do you change the light colors?** - The lights cycle through colors automatically; there is no option to set a specific color. 3. **What's the optimal water level?** - For best performance, keep the water level about 1/2 inch above the device’s metal cylinder. 4. **Does the mist maker require special water?** - While not necessary, using distilled water can prevent mineral buildup and prolong the device's life. 5. **Is there an on/off switch on the device?** - No, it has to be unplugged to turn it off, or you can use a timer plug. 6. **Can the colors stay on a specific shade?** - No, the colors cannot be fixed on a single shade; they rotate automatically. 7. **How long does the mist maker last?** - Longevity varies, with some users reporting over a year of use; proper care and maintenance enhance durability. 8. **What can be done to minimize splashing?** - Using a splash guard and ensuring proper water levels typically help reduce splashing. 9. **Is there a risk of electrical shock?** - Incidents are rare but emphasized caution is advised; ensure all parts are dry and properly handled. 10. **How often should it be cleaned?** - Regular cleaning, especially when using non-distilled water, helps maintain optimal performance and prevent buildup.

Title: Its inexpensive and works great!
Content: After reading reviews I wasn't expecting much, but my wife wanted one for a Halloween prop she wants to make. It came fast and in a box that protected it well on its journey from wherever to here. When I took it out of the box my expectations were even lower. I got a bowl like you would have cereal or soup out of and took it to the garage and set it on the bench. I put the little umbrella shaped shield on it, set it in the bowl and filled until the water was a 1/2 inch over the top of the metal cylinder. Still not expecting much, I plugged it in. Immediately the water started to bubble from the top of the cylinder and within seconds a fog rolling over the sides of the bowl and across the bench, off the edge of the bench and and fairly quickly condensed/dissipated as it got about a foot below the top of the bench. Is it a fog machine? No it isn't, not by any stretch of imagination. But it is a useful little device to create a fun display for about any party or occasion. One thing to keep in mind, the mist is heavy so as it is generated it wants to go down and spread out across any surface, like a bench or table. Again, the mist doesn't climb far after it leaves the generator so you don't want it to set down inside a deep cauldron unless you want to contain the effect mostly inside. We have a big cast iron pot and found a round plastic party platter that would set just a few inches below the top of the pot where it wedged against the sides. The same bowl I used in the garage works well sitting on the platter and the effect of the fog rolling over the side of the pot is great. I will look for a bowl or something with a larger diameter. The device works best with a 1/2 inch of water over the generator. To much water and it's not as effective, not enough and the generator will run hot. A larger diameter container will keep the depth optimal longer as the water vapor flows away. The lights are neat, but I wish there was a switch to turn them off for a different effect, but for 13.99 it's great. Keep in mind that as the vapor condenses back to water it will create a wet area. Also, windy conditions may have a negative effect on the fun.

Title: Use distilled water and keep it filled, it will last a while
Content: I been reading a lot of reviews about this thing failing or shocking people. Well it’s lasted me almost a year and a half, granted I don’t use it that much. I keep it in a small bowl and the water will evaporate over time. If the little contact on top isn’t submerged then it won’t work! After a while of not refilling the water, my bowl completely dried out, and started to get nasty, white scaly stuff and a bit of mold in the bowl with it, well I just cleaned the bowl and refilled it with distilled water and it fired up. Distilled water is nothing but pure H20 and not good to drink, but good to use with this. Water from the sink has all kinds of minerals and contaminants that make it drinkable but will definitely corrode this product faster

Title: Does it’s job, colors can’t be chosen
Content: The media could not be loaded. The amount of fog it produces is perfect for what I wanted it for. I think I have the water level too high and I have the splash guard on, so that also reduces the amount of fog coming out. It does splash but I also have a water pump in the cauldron so it could be either, the splashes don’t bother me much. I wanted to be able to change the colors, I was hoping it would have a green option as well so I could just leave the color on green; but as far as I can tell I can’t change the colors at all or make it stay on one specific color. It just cycles through blue/purple and orange/red. It would be 5 stars if I was able to toggle the colors but that may have been an error on my end for not reading through the description enough. Regardless, the fog is good and you can change the amount of fog you want by raising or lowering the water level and whether or not you have the splash guard on. Good machine for a good price.

Title: Not bad
Content: I ordered this fogger to replace an old one that lasted nearly 15 years for a Halloween decoration. Nice vibrant colors, brighter than its old one which is nice. Good fog output and a perfect replacement. I doubt it'll hold up as long as the old one did but for the price as long as it lasts a couple years I'll be happy. It does splatter a lot so use the splatter shield if you're using an open container. 5 stars for now because it's made pretty well and does what it's supposed to do, time will tell if it holds up or not. Just keep in mind there's no on/off switch so you have to have it set to a timer plug, remote control plug or just unplug it after each use. Overall, not bad!

Title: Cool addition to Halloween decoration
Content: The media could not be loaded. We ordered two for a witch cauldron Halloween decoration. Overall, works good. I thought you’d be able to change the color but you cannot. The colors just rotate through. Also, I find that I have to plug in, unplug and plug in again to sometimes get them working.

Title: Great Little Mist Maker!!
Content: The media could not be loaded. The video attached was taken during the daytime but hopefully it still gets the idea across. This little mist maker was a great purchase. There were many on Amazon and I had a hard time deciding and took a chance on this. There's no real instruction book so I was confused at first with what to do, but you LITERALLY just open it up, plug it in, and stick it in water and it gets to work as soon as it touches the water. No buttons or anything to hit. For the effect in the video, the cauldron is filled to almost the top with water, but I put a cereal bowl upside down in the water, and the mist maker is sitting on top of the bowl so that it's a couple inches below the waterline. This was a huge hit at my party and for $13, well worth it for the effect/functionality!

Title: Great product!
Content: The media could not be loaded. I have had a Relaxus brand misting lamp that quit after many years (I think from going dry while on). I was upset as it was a gift and quickly started searching Amazon for a replacement mist maker. This one is perfect. The rubber plug even fits the hole in the bottom of the bowl. Perfect replacement for Relaxus lamps of this style. I will be interested to see if the metallic surface on the mist maker will stand up as well as the solid black surface of my previous one. There wasn't an option for me to choose as I would have chosen black. The lights rotate quickly but smoothly through yellow orange red purple blue and many shades in between. Great product.

Title: Stopped working 2 days after return window closed
Content: Stopped working on October 30th. Return window closed on 10/28. Super suspicious. Didn’t last 30 days. We had on a motion sensor at our front door and would go off about once daily. Won’t turn on. Completely dead and not sure why.
