It had a button on one side and a button hole on the other. Naw. Button hole was too small for the button. I didn't dong the product for that because it doesn't need it. It fits tight as a drum and lays perfectly. Made my loveseat look brand new! As far as pet friendly...my 94 lb dog that sheds lines it just fine and it cleans like a dream. Great buy. My dogs scratch on these and lay on these and they do not leave scratches or marks or anything. They’re very durable and they wipe clean with a soft damp paper towel. I did not get the darkest brown.
