With features like Matrix Clean, home mapping, and a 30-day capacity HEPA bagless self-empty base, it is designed to tackle the challenges of maintaining a clean environment, especially for pet owners. This vacuum is perfect for people with hectic schedules who need a reliable solution to handle everyday messes and pet hair, while integrating smoothly into a smart home setup via WiFi. ## Advantages 1. **Effective Pet Hair Removal**: Perfect for homes with pets, this vacuum efficiently captures pet hair on various surfaces. 2. **Self-Emptying Base**: The robot empties itself into the base, which can hold dirt for up to 30 days, reducing maintenance. 3. **Advanced Home Mapping**: It accurately maps rooms and cleans systematically, covering all accessible areas. 4. **Matrix Clean Technology**: Ensures thorough cleaning by systematically covering areas multiple times. 5. **Tangle-Free Brush**: Equipped with a non-tangle brush, it avoids jams and stoppages. 6. **Quiet Operation**: Empties itself quietly and operates with minimal noise, making it ideal for use during the night. 7. **User-Friendly App**: Once set up, the app is intuitive, allowing easy scheduling and control. 8. **Dust Bin Accessibility**: The dust bin is straightforward to empty, making routine cleaning tasks hassle-free. 9. **Automated Cleaning**: Can be programmed to clean at specific times, autonomously maintaining floor cleanliness. 10. **Safety Features**: Designed to stop automatically upon detecting objects that may cause damage. ## Disadvantages 1. **Limited Base Capacity for Pet Owners**: The base fills up quickly in homes with multiple pets, requiring frequent emptying. 2. **App Design Flaws**: Users report repeated login requirements and navigation difficulties in the app. 3. **Mapping Challenges with New Layouts**: Might struggle until completely mapped, especially during transitions such as moving homes. 4. **Not All Furniture Accessible**: Inability to get under certain pieces of furniture, leaving some spots neglected. 5. **Short Warranty**: The product has only a one-year warranty, prompting concerns about long-term reliability. 6. **Initial Setup Learning Curve**: Technical setup might be challenging initially for some users. 7. **Moisture Issues in Mop Install**: Risks clogging if not properly managed due to moisture and debris being collected together. 8. **Power Limitations Internationally**: Potential incompatibility with power standards or app functionality outside certain regions. 9. **Looping Behavior**: The AI might get stuck in a loop, requiring occasional manual intervention. 10. **Price Point Concerns**: Some users feel it’s not value for money given some functional limitations. ## Conclusion The Shark AV2501S AI Ultra Robot Vacuum presents a smart, effective solution for maintaining clean floors, particularly in homes populated with pets. While it boasts impressive cleaning technology and ease of use, potential buyers should weigh these attributes against issues like app usability and warranty concerns. Investing in this vacuum may significantly reduce the hassle of daily cleaning, although a decluttered space is ideal to maximize its capabilities. ## FAQ 1. **Can the Shark AV2501S handle multiple pets?** Yes, it effectively cleans pet hair but requires frequent base emptying in multi-pet households. 2. **How does the self-emptying mechanism work?** The vacuum docks and automatically transfers dirt to the base’s 30-day capacity bin, simplifying maintenance. 3. **Is it compatible with smart home systems?** Yes, the vacuum can be integrated with WiFi-enabled smart home systems for convenient control. 4. **What are common issues with the app?** Users often find the app requires frequent logins and can be cumbersome to navigate. 5. **Is the vacuum loud during operation?** It operates quietly, including when emptying itself, suitable for nighttime cleaning. 6. **What should I consider before purchasing for a two-story home?** It can clean one level at a time; consider purchasing two units for simultaneous multi-level cleaning. 7. **How often does the mop feature need maintenance?** Regular checks are advisable to prevent moisture-related clogs in the mop installation. 8. **Can it clean under furniture?** It navigates well but might not fit under lower clearance furniture pieces. 9. **What is the expected longevity of the vacuum?** Warranty covers one year, but users report varied experiences in durability beyond this period. 10. **Does the robot vacuum support multiple cleaning modes?** Yes, including a Matrix mode for thorough, multi-directional cleaning.

Title: Fantastic Little Robot Vacuum
Content: We bought this during the 2024 Black Friday sales event. We previously owned a model from a different maker, but that one was a simple "bump" style that we had tired of over the last couple years. We wanted to try a smarter type that could also self-clean, so when this popped up on offer we took a chance and bought it. We have three large dogs that constantly shed, as well as two cats; all are inside pets. We have hardwood floors throughout the house except for the bedrooms, so the plan was for this little guy to handle the hardwood floors while we vacuum the carpets with a standard vacuum cleaner. I haven't had the chance to do an actual mapping run of the house because we are still in the process of moving in and there are boxes and other items in various areas that haven't been put away. I've only let the little fella roam on his own without mapping, but I hope to have everything put away (or mostly put away) by the end of the year. So far our little robot has done a great job on the hardwood floors. He picks up way more than the other robot vacuum ever did. It's amazing to watch it dock and empty itself into the base station, then get back to work all on its own. One great feature is how it cleans the brush roller. I'm not sure how it does it, but it does a great job. It does leave some hairs behind on the roller right in the middle when the metal support lies on the brush cover, as well as at the edges of the brush where it attaches to the motor. I wasn't surprise by that and it should be expected since those areas aren't easy to access without removing the cover and brush roll from the machine. The hairs came off super easy by hand, though. It was far easier to remove them than with the other vacuum robot we owned. The base station holding tank would probably last 30 days in houses without pets, or with one small pet; however, with our 5 pets it filled up within a few days of running 1-2 times per day. I checked it after about 6-8 days of running and it was quite full. It might have been able to run for another day or two (maybe longer), but I didn't want to risk it and was already heading to the rubbish bin anyway, so I went ahead and emptied it. The one frustrating thing I've found so far is the tall foam filter in the base dumps dirt out when you lift it out to clean it. I discovered that when I was emptying the base for the first time and decided to pull that out to give it a quick clean. Fine dirt just kept dropping out of it while I walked to the front door, leaving a trail of dirt behind. Now I know to only remove that when either outside or above the trash, both of which require lifting the base and taking it somewhere else. I can live with that slight inconvenience since the robot does so much work for me otherwise. Overall I am very pleased with the purchase. I suppose there are more expensive options out there, but this one is fine for our needs. I MIGHT update this review once I have the little guy map the house and start doing fully automated runs.

Title: WOW WOW
Content: I did not get the highest model, but being a lover of shark vacuums I did purchased the self cleaning vac mop model to see if i would like a robot vac. All I can say is WOW!!! We have 2 dogs whose job is to shed, 4 cats, a cocatoo, hubby and kids. The first picture is random run, the second was from after returing to dock to empty and then back to point it had stopped at to finish. The 3rd is from a whole house programmed run. 4 rooms, 1 bath and hallway. The last one the pad from cleaning one room with the mop function. That blew my mind, it is not a frequently used room and had been washed a couple days before. Using a broom or cordless stick vac(not Shark, was a bad girl, i can say it will soon be replaced with a Shark version, no more straying from Shark)it looked like i could make a toupee daily!!! This robot vacuum 3 toupees in one cleaning! This was on normal mode, may try matrix next time and see what she finds!!! Love how she mapped the rooms, it was very accurate and let's you know the size of the rooms, and also the size of cleaning it does. It was very impressive!!! The mop feature worked great too. I have no complaints, no streaks, dried quickly and was not sticky. My goal is to get the shark robot vacuum wet/dry model that auto fills cleaning fluid too. I can not believe how much crud it finds and how clean the floors are. I do have some furniture it can not go under, but it does get under enough to help control dust bunnies, especially if able to go around the full piece of furniture. I will see if this helps lessen dusting since the floors are so much cleaner. It really is not that loud when it empties itself. Very quiet when working. I love that she can be programmed her to sweep the whole house and she does at 0300 daily. Off she went with no prompts. Could not be easier!!! She loves working nights! HA HA. I am not technically savy, so it took me a couple minutes to figure out the app. But, once I did, a piece of cake to set her up! Now to see if she does hold 60 days of this crews fur and dirt!!! I have confidence in Shark, that it will!!! If your home has two levels you would need 2, I have one room that has a step down into, I just place her in the room, push clean and off she goes. I am impressed that my floors do not look like they need to be swept again a few hours afterwards. I do not have carpet, but i do have a dog rug that absorbs all with shag pile under their food and water bowls, and she goes right over it! Its time to put the one down by the front door like that one, and I am pretty sure she will not have a problem with it. I am very happy that "Rosy" loves to keep my floors clean!

Title: Love the machine, HATE the app.
Content: It's a great vacuum/floor cleaner. Does exactly what's it's supposed to do and does it well. The app, however, is a real waste of time. It's annoying having to always sign in, and super annoying navigating it. I don't need that much organization in my life. Appliances really don't need apps! What's next? A push broom with an app?? Would give it a 5 star if the app was easy to use, but it's just not. Not time saving, not logical and certainly not practical. It's just not. What I do think is exceptional on this machine is, the 'non tangle' brush and that the machine stops if it picks up something that will damage it. In question was a 'tack' it picked up and it shut down immediately. Love this feature. As for the floor cleaning option, it washes well, but I hate to clean any machine, so I will just use it for vacuuming as the dust bin is so easy to empty, and cleaning the washing liquid out of the washing component is not my kind of fun. Worth the $$ to me, but I should have got the model that just vacuums, and saved a few bucks.

Title: After 1.5 years of use - Not worth the Money
Content: Shark 2 in 1 Mopping has stopped working after just use of 1.5 years. I bought it on amazon paying C$750 and found it is not worth the money. Few issues which I think are important to know for this model 1. It has 2 different installations, one for vaccum and other for mop. The vaccum collects dirt in the main base, but the Mop install collects dirt in the installation itself. What this means is that dirt and water remains in the same installation causing it to clog due to moisture (which happened to me) and then stopped working by not identifying the mop install. 2. The AI algorithm not very good, I have faced issues where it gets stuck in a loop and I had to restart it. This happens for one of my room and multiple times. 3. Limited warranty: This is the biggest issue. Shark has only 1 year warranty for a $700+ product. Looks like they don't have any confidence in the product. They will need more money for any issues post 1 year and don't guarantee a solution. My usage has been very decent for a 500 sq feet home and have used it with care. Still it stopped working on me. I would not advice this product.
