Content: This rocking chair is adorable. My Grandson loves it. I, however, did not love putting it together. I thought that the shipping being more expensive than the rocking chair, was because it was already assembled. I couldn't have been more wrong. I have no idea why they charge between $30-$50 to ship this product, when the box didn't weigh more than 5-7 pounds and the box was about the size of a decorative pillow, if the pillow was flattened out. You will need power tools, and the directions aren't much help. It says to put the pegs in with the "screw holes" facing down, only there were no screw holes in the pegs. You will not be able to assemble it with a screwdriver either, unless you have the hand strength of ten men. I had to wait for my husband to come home and use his power drill on the screws that I couldn't get in by hand, and there were a lot of them. One of the screws broke off just as he got it in the wood. Luckily, it was the head of the screw that broke off, and luckily, it was already screwed in. We just won't be able to take it apart, ever. Since one of the peg holes wasn't big enough for the peg to fit in it, I had to hammer it in. While I tried to use a barrier, it still dented the wood. I also had to pound the pegs in the arms, and again dented the wood. My Grandson doesn't care that the wood is dented, but I care. It also split it on one of the arms. So, I'll have to sand that out, and then that's just going to look awful, since matching the paint isn't going to be easy. From a distance, this rocking chair is adorable. On the surface, there are a few flaws, such as paint drips, unsmooth sanding job, and chips/splits in the wood. I gave 4 stars because I do expect that this will last a long time. I took off one star for the terrible instructions and the lack of screw holes where they should have been, and the chipped/split wood and dried on paint drips.
