But within a year of having them.. maybe about 8 months there were random holes in them, and not in the seams like you would think, just the middle of the fabric in 2+ places. I very much prefer the smoothness of the cotton (crispness is another word) and that comes from them being percale. I used to wonder why sateen sheets didn’t last as long - specifically, I sometimes sit up in bed in the morning to have my coffee. After some time I’d notice that where me feet were on sateen sheets it was getting worn. With any sateen brand. An online search showed me that sateen fabric is woven differently to give it a softer feel, which it does. But that also makes it less durable. Percale is woven in a way that makes it sturdier. So, it’s 100% cotton percale for me. These beautiful sheets have deep pockets that will fit thicker mattresses and have a really nice component - the elastic in the fitted sheet is thicker and wider than your average fitted sheet. Sturdy elastic that lasts. As with all cotton sheets, yes, they do wrinkle. And they do iron well if you’re in the mood to do it. But that is of little consequence to me to have sheets that are exactly what I want. I now have two sets of these in different colors and would not hesitate to buy more. Entirely pleased.

Cool when you get into them but they warm to your body temperature nicely without becoming too warm. I love them!
