The gorgeous teak wood could easily be used as a decor item, but it also is a sturdy and well made mat that adds an elegant look to the bath. I'm not expecting this to last, they'll most likely break into place and conform to contour of floor eventually which I'm prepared for. I regularly lifted them and scrubbed the mold off, but as these new ones sit above the floor, I'm not expecting the same build-up of scum and mold that I saw before. Great purchase, hope they are available in a couple years so I can buy more when the time comes to replace.

We bought it to use as a non-slip mat in our shower and tried it there a couple of times. Both of us felt like we were going to fall off of it or step on the edge and twist our ankle. It’s simply too small for the floor of our shower and would need to be 3-4 times the size to be safe. As a result, this now graces our front porch where it looks lovely and doesn’t present a hazard. Please note that we’re of the boomer era and, as such, our balance features are somewhat worn and our agility settings are dialed down to “have something within arm’s reach to grab at all times”. This mat would probably work well for those on the millennial/Gen Z end of the spectrum. 😊
