I purchased it because I bought new living room couch and chair and didn't want my two cats scratching at them with their claws. Over the past 2 years, they have held up very well. Personally, I find those two cons very very minor when factoring in how great this is. Just don’t buy it thinking it’ll “blend right in” since it’s clear. Very visually noticeable.
