Can be done solo but two person is best as it isn't light. The fire image and lighting is great with all the different options. I wanted to add some character to a flat wall in our living room, and thought a bump out with an electric fireplace would be a good idea at a reasonable price. The whole thing, including fireplace, was done for about $550. First, I didn’t want any brand names on the front. This does not have that. Second, I didn’t need it for a heat source. This does have heat and it actually works pretty decently, but we have only used it to see if it works. Our sole purpose is purely for looks. Third, I wanted the option for wood log look and glass/crystals. This has both! We actually decided to keep the wood look since the flames and glow of the wood look really nice. There are a ton of color options for the “glow” on bottom and the flames on back. I built the bump out before the fireplace arrived, it took about 5 days to arrive. Framing was done in less than 1 day and the remaining pine on the outside, which I painted white and caulked, took about 2 days. The measurements someone else provided were exact! The one thing I did not account for was the plug in cord coming out the middle/top right side, so I had to notch out for that - but was a simple fix. So far, totally a 5/5 for the quality, price, and look! Hope this helps you make a decision!

Framing was done in less than 1 day and the remaining pine on the outside, which I painted white and caulked, took about 2 days. The measurements someone else provided were exact! The one thing I did not account for was the plug in cord coming out the middle/top right side, so I had to notch out for that - but was a simple fix.
