Content: This is the cutest little fire pit. A very simple design and so easy to fill with alcohol and light with a long lighter. I didn’t fill it to the top but be sure to put the small coaster is comes with underneath so doesn’t burn your table as ithe outside of it gets very hot.

Content: This is a great thing to have for an outdoor porch. Its a lot of fun to have a small fire in it and its a great conversation piece with guests or for parties. It burns about 40-45 minutes on a full load of alcohol. It gets very hot during use and for up to 30 minutes even after the fire is out so wherever you place it is where it should stay until it cools off completely. I use 91% isopropyl alcohol. Wall Mart sells two 32 ounce bottles for a little over six bucks. The fire bowl overpriced for what it is, but I still highly recommend it. Its fun!

Content: We were a little concerned about having an open-flame product in the house, but this fire pit works great! It's a little challenging to get the alcohol into the receptacle area, but once you've got it and use a safe lighting device, it's all set. It offers a nice touch to a cool evening. Content: The media could not be loaded. I have purchased 4 of these now. Two for the house and two as gifts; as soon as people see them, they want one! They make great gifts and are perfect for use outside in the evening to provide a warm ambience. They are well made and have a good insulated base, but they do get very hot so be aware of the surface you place them on. If you use a high % of alcohol as recommended, there is no smoke or soot. The literature says they can be used indoors, but personally, I would not want to risk that.

Content: First, ethanol based fires are very clean-burning and hence you can sit close and not be bothered by smoke. Soot will still build up on the inside over time (see picture). Second, the timeless, simple design and modern appearance of the Colsen tabletop fireplace suits any outdoor table surface. Hard to get wrong. We prefer modern & simple design and own multiple of these (incl. the long rectangular one). Third, made of concrete , they’re heavy and robust and don’t tip easily - which is super important, if you’ve ever experienced a spilled ethanol fire. Fourth, it gets hot slowly and stays hot for a while after empty. If you refill ethanol, know what you’re doing, i.e. wait until the flame is completely out! Keep the fire pit’s felt bottom intact or put an extra insulation layer between the concrete and your table. Down-sides? Its concrete edges are sharp, crumble and break off over very short time - which hints at poor concrete quality. Just norma use, no force required. Also the concrete is so porous, that it absorbs ethanol like a sponge. You can see the flame going for minutes despite no visible liquid ethanol in the burning chamber anymore. This raises concerns about what’ll happen if moisture gets into the concrete and freeze during the cold season. We have a German-made similar tabletop fire pit and it has neither of these two issues, hence only four stars since the fire pit isn’t exactly cheap.
