Title: The most heavy duty tongs I have used
Content: I have big fires in an outdoor stone fire pit that's about 6 feet across. It can burn about 30 or 35 logs and gets to 1500 degrees easily. Content: I've been using the accordion style grabbers forever. They work but it's hard to hang on to larger (or very small) pieces of wood and they always get rusty and stiff after a few years. These grabbers are the polar opposite. They have sharp teeth that really holds on to the wood and the stainless steel construction and bolted hinge point means they won't rust and seize up. I got these for camping and liked them so much I also ordered a 40" pair for my home fire pit. Highly recommended.

As I placed the logs in the flames, everyone gasped as I was using my bare hands to shift the wood and embers. I told them it didn't hurt because I felt nothing due to my lack of nerve endings as a result of previous fire pit sessions. In unison, everyone recommended the 40 inch Fire Tongs Firewood Grabbers and Fire Poker Set. I gingerly pulled my phone from my pocket and with the assistance of my friends, scrolled to the item on Amazon. Soon the set arrived and even though it's stored outside, no corrosion has formed on it. It's solid and appears well made. Now after using them, I'm starting to get feeling back in my hands!!

Content: I have big fires in an outdoor stone fire pit that's about 6 feet across. It can burn about 30 or 35 logs and gets to 1500 degrees easily. I am constantly adjusting logs with these tongs and some of the logs are whole and weigh 20-25 pounds. These tongs easily handle these huge logs...and regular split logs are a joke. Plus, they have such tight tolerances and with the sharp teeth, they are good to pick up a leaf or a small stick if needed. I have gone through other aluminum tongs in the past that are the same length but nowhere near the strength or durability of these. Actually 2 sets of those went in the trash and they were more expensive. Cons: Some people might say a negative would be that they are too heavy to extend your arms out with them - that's because they are heavy duty, thick steel, and nice and long. The only negative I have is the plastic handles. While they seem heavy duty and I doubt they'll be an issue other than if they got melted....they don't feel good ergonomically. Bad shape in my opinion, but that keeps the price down in the affordable range. At some point I will either wrap them in some type of tennis racket tape or just deal with it, they're not that bad. At this time, I can't think of any other negatives with these tongs. Pros: Affordable Super heavy duty Sharp grabber teeth Zero slop in the scissor action Length, at least for my type of bonfires No rust stainless steel, I left them out in the rain one night and there was no rust One last note, I also have a bonfire Solostove for my big fire startup ember beds and those fire bowls require finite precision when moving logs around inside the bowl ...plus you're at an awkward angle. These monster tongs are accurate and easy enough to handle that job. I also melt glass fire diamonds in my big fire when it's at it's hottest and these can gently and accurately pick the orange hot glass diamonds out of the fire without cracking them. If I had the machinery to cut steel like this company can, these are exactly how I would make a set of tongs. Enjoy them
