Content: The three-prong design of the tongs is great; it adds stability when using the tongs to add wood or to move wood already in the fire. The poker is non-standard in design; I was somewhat skeptical of it at first but I have not had any problems or frustrations when using it. We have a gas starter in our fireplace - a pipe with emitters along its length that sits about 3/4" off the floor of the fireplace and ash accumulates in this space. The broom is not long enough to fit completely underneath the pipe or to conveniently reach just behind the pipe but the shovel is low-profile enough to easily fit underneath and scoop the otherwise hard-to-sweep ashes out. The broom is great for all other applications in the fireplace. When assembled, the stand plus the tools take up about as much space as every other set of fireplace tools I've come across in my life - not very much space, which makes it quite convenient to store on the hearth. Assembly is about as simple as it could be and took all of a minute or two once the items were unpackaged. Based on our usage so far, this seems like a solid set of fireplace tools and an excellent set for the price.

Content: Had a hard time getting out of shipping box. Had to tear open box which I regretted later. We try to keep all shipping boxes intact if possible. When I put the stand part on level hearth, it leaned. 2 of the legs were not equal to the other 2. I loved the style and hated to go through the return process for that. My husband is handy, took the stand to his shop and was able to bend the 2 legs until it stood upright. Only thing in that process he scraped the finish on the top hooks where utensils hang when he had to put the stand upside down in the vice, revealing that the black is only a coating, it was bare metal underneath. A shot of heat proof spray paint for stoves we happened to have on hand from another project, fixed that problem. For the money I gave 2 stars. I still like the set, lightweight and is very useful. Just better-quality control before shipping would be preferred. A sturdier shipping box would be helpful too. Have had a fire set for 40 years since the house was built, that set had seen better days. We had to replace the doors to fireplace so updated the fire set too. Not sure this set will last that long!!

I expect that these tools will last the lifespan of the fireplace. They look nice and fit in there holder well. For the price if you are looking for fireplace tools I would recommend this set. Content: We have a fireplace in our rented home and have mucked through, quite awkwardly, without any basic tools, just jerry rigging what we had on hand. It was nice to receive this set with everything we needed to make maintaining a fire and the fireplace more easily and safely. They even included a pair of gloves to make handling safer! This is our first time having a fireplace or the proper tools so understand this review is based on that. If I were to design one change I'd probably make the base of the tool holder a little wider. So far it doesn't seem to be in danger of tipping over but we have cats so any extra stability is always welcome.
