It's got large enough shelves for everything and the height of the bottom shelf is high enough to see and reach everything. It was really quick to set up as well. It was a little harder to find something that had a clean not-too-plastic look while still being unisex enough for him. This met all his requirements.

It is highly functional and versatile. I have a second one that I use for my dresser- which also works well. I may also get one for my nightstand.
