And because I got this for using with the wood stove, it is very cool that it is all black and so matches the black metal dustpan and the black fireplace shovel (got a really good one of those too, but then I am willing to look at every black fireplace shovel or dustpan or brush sold on Amazon then read a zillion reviews and do comparisons on features etc so I rarely have to return anything). Anyways, back to this brush. I have similar brushes that I use in the gardening area or porch (and it isn't black) and I have a wood handled brush shaped like this with boar hair bristles or some such thing for woodworking, but I wouldn't want to use those brushes on soot and creosote and ashes and black crunchy stuff in the woodstove now would I? NO. So this black brush is perfect and made to last forever. Love it. Re the shovel, I got the "Behrens 17PCS Painted Coal Shovel". First one arrived banged up because amazon used no packing materials in a big box with a metal shovel and a metal dustpan. the seller sent me out a replacement shovel right away and it was just fine. At first I thought the shovel was a little too narrow but after a few days I figured it was just the right size. And sturdy, made to last. And then the dustpan: "Edward Tools Black Metal Dustpan 12” - Heavy Duty Powder Coated Steel does not chip or bend - Precision edge for small item sweeping - Loop handle for comfort / hanging " is the name of it. made in america. made to last. LIFETIME WARRANTY. The big complaint of most reviewers is the stupid big yellow label on the top of the thing. And it won't peel off nice and easy. Stupid yellow label. Someday I will try to remove it. Maybe in February. Maybe next summer. Probably a good soak in hot water to get most of the label then some goo gone. The dustpan is awesome. Content: Pretty much, a brush shaped like this either does a good job or a crap job (or somewhere in between). This is a really well made brush. It does a really good job of brushing stuff into a dustpan (I also got a reeeeelly good black metal dust pan). And because I got this for using with the wood stove, it is very cool that it is all black and so matches the black metal dustpan and the black fireplace shovel (got a really good one of those too, but then I am willing to look at every black fireplace shovel or dustpan or brush sold on Amazon then read a zillion reviews and do comparisons on features etc so I rarely have to return anything). Anyways, back to this brush. I have similar brushes that I use in the gardening area or porch (and it isn't black) and I have a wood handled brush shaped like this with boar hair bristles or some such thing for woodworking, but I wouldn't want to use those brushes on soot and creosote and ashes and black crunchy stuff in the woodstove now would I? NO. So this black brush is perfect and made to last forever. Love it. Re the shovel, I got the "Behrens 17PCS Painted Coal Shovel". First one arrived banged up because amazon used no packing materials in a big box with a metal shovel and a metal dustpan. the seller sent me out a replacement shovel right away and it was just fine. At first I thought the shovel was a little too narrow but after a few days I figured it was just the right size. And sturdy, made to last. And then the dustpan: "Edward Tools Black Metal Dustpan 12” - Heavy Duty Powder Coated Steel does not chip or bend - Precision edge for small item sweeping - Loop handle for comfort / hanging " is the name of it. made in america. made to last. LIFETIME WARRANTY. The big complaint of most reviewers is the stupid big yellow label on the top of the thing. And it won't peel off nice and easy. Stupid yellow label. Someday I will try to remove it. Maybe in February. Maybe next summer. Probably a good soak in hot water to get most of the label then some goo gone. The dustpan is awesome. Made like they used to make stuff in the good ol' US of A. Did I mention Lifetime warranty. Who puts a lifetime warranty on a dustpan? Edwards Tools does. I needed something heavier duty for getting aluminum chips out a milling machine. This works perfect for medium duty jobs while not being too stiff and scratchy. I'm ordering another one.
