## Introduction The NEAGLORY 20 Ft Chimney Sweep Kit offers a versatile and budget-friendly solution for homeowners looking to maintain their chimney's hygiene without professional help. This chimney cleaning kit comes with a set of nylon flexible rods and a brush designed for fireplace flue cleaning, promising an easy and effective chimney cleaning process from the comfort of your home. However, as with many DIY solutions, user experiences can vary significantly, often reflecting both advantages and challenges associated with this product. ## Advantages and Disadvantages ### Advantages 1. **Cost Savings:** Several users noted saving a significant amount of money by performing the cleaning themselves instead of hiring a professional, potentially saving up to $300 per cleaning. 2. **Ease of Use:** For some customers, the simple process and the included instructions made the task straightforward, completing the cleaning in less than 30 minutes. 3. **Effective Cleaning:** When working properly, the kit is capable of removing large amounts of soot and creosote, helping to solve smoke backup issues quickly. 4. **Compatibility with Drills:** The rods can be attached to a drill, which enhances the cleaning efficiency, allowing for more thorough removal of chimney debris. 5. **Sturdy Materials:** Some users found the rods to be strong and flexible enough for their needs, managing to clean older, neglected chimneys effectively. 6. **Time Efficient:** For some, the kit allowed quick cleanups, which can be a crucial advantage when preparing for use during colder months. 7. **DIY Convenience:** For those comfortable with DIY maintenance, the kit offers an opportunity to manage chimney cleaning without scheduling a professional service. 8. **Improved Home Safety:** Regular chimney cleaning can reduce the risk of chimney fires, thus contributing to overall home safety. 9. **Minimal Mess with Proper Setup:** If paired with a shop vac and careful preparation, the kit can minimize the mess usually associated with chimney cleaning. 10. **Affordable Initial Cost:** The lower price point makes it an appealing choice for homeowners on a budget. ### Disadvantages 1. **Poor Design and Construction:** Many users expressed frustration over the flimsy and poorly designed locking mechanism, which often fails during use. 2. **Connection Issues:** The rods often do not lock securely, requiring users to tape them for stability, which is not an ideal solution. 3. **Potential for Equipment Loss:** There were multiple reports of parts becoming detached and getting lodged inside the chimney, creating difficult and time-consuming retrieval scenarios. 4. **Durability Concerns:** The product may prove unsuitable for heavy-duty cleaning due to breakage issues under pressure. 5. **Limited Effectiveness:** Some kits didn't work well due to poor construction, making them ineffective for serious cleaning tasks or long chimneys. 6. **Time-Consuming Retrieval:** Should parts become stuck, users report extremely long and frustrating attempts to retrieve them, sometimes requiring disassembly of the entire chimney apparatus. 7. **Risk of Damage to Chimney:** The rigid rods are prone to break chimney joints if used carelessly, potentially leading to costly repairs. 8. **Not Suitable for All Chimneys:** The stiff rods may struggle in older or complex chimney systems with beyond-average turns or angles. 9. **Quality Inconsistencies:** Some users complained about the variability in product quality, with some rods fitting properly while others do not. 10. **Minimal Professional Support:** The DIY nature implies a lack of professional support if problems arise during or after the cleaning process. ## Conclusion The NEAGLORY 20 Ft Chimney Sweep Kit can be a cost-effective option for homeowners confident in their DIY skills. While it can deliver good results under certain conditions, many users have highlighted significant drawbacks related to product design and reliability. For those who choose this kit, it’s crucial to approach the task with patience and caution, being prepared for potential issues. Ultimately, investing in a higher quality kit or professional services may lead to better results and fewer frustrations. ## FAQ 1. **Can I use this chimney sweep kit with any type of fireplace?** - While the kit is designed for standard chimneys, users have reported challenges with complex chimney systems. Assess your chimney's structure before choosing this kit. 2. **Is the kit suitable for regular use or only occasional cleaning?** - Due to durability concerns, it may be better suited for occasional cleaning. Regular or industrial use might require a more robust solution. 3. **How does the kit attach to a drill?** - The kit rods are designed to be compatible with standard drill attachments, which enhances cleaning efficiency by allowing for powered brushing. 4. **What should I do if the rods get stuck in the chimney?** - If parts get lodged, retrieval can be challenging. Users often have to disassemble parts of the chimney to remove stuck equipment. 5. **Is additional equipment needed for effective cleaning?** - It’s recommended to use a shop vac to manage soot and debris, alongside placing protective coverings to minimize mess in your living area. 6. **How do I ensure the rods stay connected during use?** - Many users suggest securing joints with tape, although this is not a foolproof solution given the reported design flaws. 7. **What is the risk of damaging my chimney with this kit?** - There is a risk if the rods break or are used too aggressively, potentially damaging chimney joints. Users are advised to proceed with caution. 8. **Are the rods flexible enough to handle bends in the chimney?** - The rods may be too rigid for chimneys with bends or joints, especially in older structures. 9. **Is professional help required to retrieve parts from the chimney?** - If parts become deeply lodged or entangled, professional assistance may be necessary to avoid further damage. 10. **Can this kit replace a professional chimney cleaner entirely?** - While it can handle basic cleaning, it might not replace professional services for deep or thorough maintenance needs.

Title: Poorly Constructed
Content: Ordered this item, expecting some issues as described by other reviewers, but hoping to get a few uses out of it. We did have to tape the ends together as the locking mechanism was not situated well on the ends and the poles did not click into place on most pieces. A few did, however, all poles needed to be taped together as this item is poorly designed and incredibly flimsy. Even with taping, the flimsy design caused us to constantly stop and start again. We were unable to clean our chimney. We went to the hardware store, and we spent money on a really nice quality metal brush and sturdier poles. Buyer be very aware of this product's poor quality design.

Title: Great job
Content: I had doubts until I use it to knock the soot out of the chimney. The smoke was backing up in the den. I shined a flashlight up the chimney it was full of soot. I covered the front of the fire with the plastic. Connected the rods to my drill, it was a game changer. Wow the amount of soot that was knocked down. I used my shop vac to get the soot out. Shined the flashlight one more time amazing the difference. Light a log problem solved. No more smoked filled room. It may have taken 20-30 minutes. It was an very simple process.

Title: Complete garbage Absolutely horrible do not buy!!
Content: Hardly any of the rods fit. The ball does not snap into the hole. I was left with very few rods that worked halfway decent. Figured I would get some of it from the rooftop, and the other part from inside the house with the only rods that worked half way as they should. The first time I used it, the rods came apart and the brush and two rods ended up at the bottom of my stove pipe down and 18 foot Masonry chimney. Not only should I be refunded, I should be paid for the 4+ hours it took to completely disassemble all of the pipes and pull them out through the chimney to retrieve the brush. Complete garbage. If you ever buy chimney cleaning kit by the rods that are threaded with 1/4” NC threads.

THIS IS THE WORST PRODUCT I HAVE EVER BOUGHT FROM AMAZON AND WILL BE RETURNING IMMEDIATELY.

Title: Excellent + saves a ton of money.
Content: Super easy to use. Follow the easy instructions. The rods are strong and flexible. For my own peace of mind, I placed a small strip of electrical tape around the rod joints after connected. When done, be sure to remove the tape. Does an excellent job removing built up soot and creosote. I placed the hose to my shop vacuum inside the firebox. Makes for less mess. The PLUS is that I saved myself at least $300 cleaning the pipe myself. I'm pushing 70 years of age. If I can do this, you can too!

Content: The rods are thick nearly rigid nylon and will not go around corners without breaking chimney joints. However section are short enough to insert straight up with limited available clearance. And stiff enough to break up deposits.

Title: Does not work!
Content: Doesn't work at all! The rods won't stay connected. Very cheaply made ! I spent more time trying to retrieve it from the chimney than anything. I promise you, you will be disappointed in this purchase!!!

Title: Poles don’t fit together well
Content: Ended up calling a chimney sweep after all. The poles in this kit attach with a spring loaded ball joint type mechanism. The seam to fit well but the instant you apply any pressure (by hand or using the drill attachment) you know actual clean your chimney, they break apart. I lost a pole and the brush head in my chimney stack. I spent hours trying to fish it out. But it’s stuck good. Spend up for a much higher quality kit than this if you intend to use it on your home. Maybe it’s fine for a short dryer vent or a camp stove but not a full sized house.

Now my living room is covered in soot. Do not buy this garbage. Invest in a professional set or hire someone to do it.

Title: Junk! Do not buy!
Content: The tabs that hold the pieces together come apart very easily. It came apart inside my chimney and I just spent the last 6 hours taking my chimney apart and fishing the pieces out. Now my living room is covered in soot. Do not buy this garbage. Invest in a professional set or hire someone to do it.

Title: Works great
Content: I was able to clean my chimney in less than 30 minutes. No more waiting for the chimeny sweeper (who would have done the same thing) between noon and 4 pm and will charge over 200$

THE FIRST TIME I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A BAD CONNECTION BUT THE SECOND AND THIRD TIME TELLS ME ITS A LOUSY PRODUCT.
