Content: We love the gas vent free fireplace. The fire is great and easy to turn on/off with the remote. It is American made. So I was sure the instructions would be easy to understand. I was wrong. They were disorganized and lacking. There were several issues that came up. It has 9 logs which have to be specifically placed. They were supposed to be numbered but weren't. We finally just looked at pictures to figure it out. There were 3 screws missing to install the hood. Luckily my husband has experience with construction. He ended up using metal cutting screws. There were several other issues. Sometimes we would find the answer to our question in another section of the instructions. We finally figured everything out ourselves. I did call the distributor/manufacturer before buying to ask questions. They were very helpful and polite. But when I tried calling to get help with installation, I was placed on hold for quite some time. I finally gave up. One con is that though you can use the remote as a thermostat or to just turn on/off, you can't control the level of the fire with it. It has to be done manually. We just leave it at the same level. The "screen" did arrive slightly dented. This was due to not packing it tightly and to ill-planned packing. I was able to remove the dent myself. However, once we had it all figured out, we have really enjoyed it!

We knew that the ventless flames wouldn't look as nice as the vented insert fireplaces, but nonetheless, it looks great, and puts out a ton of heat! I ended up having to return the blower because we didn't even need it, this thing heats up everything within a matter of minutes. Despite having the measurements of the unit, and my husband measuring the fireplace opening, it still turned out to be too big for the hole, and he had to increase the size of the fireplace opening to accommodate the fireplace

Content: There is not a control for the flame-for example you can not set it to a low flame for a nice soft warmth-it is either on or off. It was easy to install and looks nice. Some of the pieces are flimsy so be careful when installing and especially the remote battery receiver box. An update: the receiver went bad after 10 days, no replacement parts were in stock 2-3 weeks), no selenocysteine, no revivers ( we accidentally asked about the wrong part). They will not send the new part until they receive the old part but it took a week, two emails, and a phone call to find out where to send it. As of right now it’s been almost three weeks and I have not received the new part and I have been on hold 50 minutes and 20 seconds and counting to find out what in the hell is going on. The customer service is atrocious!

Content: I bought this fireplace, installed it myself last fall. Im not new to gas hookup. Assembly and hookup were straight forward, the gas was piped into the dpace designated by a licensed contractor and capped. The remote has never worked since installation. Batteries in unit and remote. The remote is now something of a paper weight. The pilot light takes forever to get lit and will spontaneously go out at random times. Once you manage to get the pilot to stay on long enough to turn the fireplace on you may get 30 to forty minutes out of it before it spontaneously goes out again. If tou use the blower it goes out within a minute or two. It looks nice. Tho. I should have ordered s picture of a fireplace and covered the opening. I have sanded the thermocouple, used compressed air around pilot head. Again these problems were there from day one. Ive basically given up on it working and just turn it on without the blower for 20 or 30 minutes to look pretty a little while.

Content: Bought the unit to replace a built-in obsolete model that I could no longer find parts for. Couple of issues; 1; Only one access cutout for gas and electric at the back of the unit and it was on the wrong side for previously installed gas and electric. Having to reach to the back of the unit makes it very difficult to work on. Had to cut new access holes to match. 2; Had to remove the bottom of the unit to install the blower unit and had to drill new holes for the mounting bracket as it was defective. 3; The heat sensor for the blower is not turning on the fan, so I have to turn on the fan manually. Other than those issues, it works fine.
