Title: Effective humidifier for small spaces
Content: Evaporative humidifiers are pretty simple things: a water container, a wick to absorb water and a fan to blow the moist air into the room. But water quality and content varies a lot, and while it's not harmful to drink (I guess), once you start tossing it into the air it can get messy. Anyway, this unit works nicely to filter the water with a much more effective filter than the usual wick, UV to limit the nasties, and a ceramic disk to help with the cleanup all before the fan pushes it into the air. It also serves as a decent air cleaner. I've been genuinely pleased so far. Controls are reasonably easy to use and the unit is very quiet even at its highest setting. Two disappointments though: first, though there is a window to check water level, it's very hard to determine that level, and it is on the back of the unit, on the opposite side of the controls. So, unless you put the unit in the middle of the room, you've got to take the top off. There is a full level tab on the inside so that's not so bad, and once you know how much you can put in, you can pour right through the top. The second disappointment is a bigger one though: it doesn't turn off when the unit runs out of water, so unless you check it very regularly, or keep an eye on room humidity then all you're doing is recycling room air. All told, though, as log as your diligent with a check and fill routine it'll do the job, and the filtration and UV features are better than many evaporative humidifiers I've owned in the past.

Content: This is the first evaporative humidifier I've ever owned. I was looking for a humidifier to run mostly at night in our bedroom, so I decided to start with a smaller model to see how they work. This one is very light and easy to carry, even when full (I say this as a very petite person), and it runs for a long time. We mostly run it on the low and medium settings, and refilling it every night, I've never had it run out of water. Since it is a smaller model, it works best for me with just one room (with the door shut), but it does still help when we have our whole apartment (~900sqft) open. As a baseline, our apartment usually sits around 25-35% humidity. On the low setting, it gets the humidity up to ~43-47% throughout the whole apartment, and up to ~56-60% in one enclosed room. It's been easy to clean, and way more convenient to just fill from the tap than buying distilled water. It's also really quiet. But if you like a little white noise, the medium to high settings can give you some of that.

Content: I ran this humidifier in our bedroom for a week. I followed all instructions, and tried various humidistat settings (40-65%), but could not get the humidity above 46 % no matter what. Most of the time it was maxed out somewhere between 35-40 % even though I had it set to 60-65% most of the time. Also, I assume because the unit is small, it ran out of water quickly. I had to completely refill it twice each day (morning/evening). Sent it back, definitely did not deliver the more hunid air I was wanting.
