Title: Simple To Use and Effective
Content: This product works as advertised and there were no surprises when I used it today to clean out my dryer vent. The rods are flexible and easily manipulated as they are connected to extend the length of the vent tubing. If you hit some resistance, most likely from a curve in the tubing, just keep manually turning the rods (before you connect the drill) and the rods will bend to the shape of the curve. You MUST remember to ensure you drill is turning clockwise or you will undo all the rods and you won’t be able to get them out of the vent tubing. But it works well and I was able to easily remove much lint and debris. Good product for the money spent.

The only thing is, it’s difficult to loosen and remove the rods from each other… I’m certain it’s from the power drill constantly tightening as it’s turning to clean.

A year later the washer went out (it was a stackable unit) and we bought a new washer/dryer stack. We thought we bought a lemon because there was a ton of condensation coming out of the dryer vent and it was taking forever to dryer. Enter the Dryer Vent Cleaner Kit. I bought this 8 months ago thinking at some point I would clean out the little bit of lint that was in the ducting. The day the new dryer was installed I removed the dryer to access the vent. I inserted the dryer cleaner which pulled out a few large clumps of lint, but then stopped 1/3 of the way through (leaving one of the 1' connectors twisted - much like some have posted pictures of). I then went to the other end of the line and did the same thing removing more lint, but stopping 1/3 of the way through. I thought "Great, I cleared the vent!" That evening dryer loads were still taking forever to dry (never really drying) and condensation around the vent was off the charts. At this point I realized that I need to run this cleaner through the entire line. Instead of push it through which creates the twisting of the segments and would never go all the way through for me, I decide to pull it through. To do this I had a pull a string through the vent then tape the end of the segments that connects to the drill and pull that through until the brush it at the beginning of the vent. I watched a video by an electrician who showed how to suck a fishing line with a small plastic bag (like a parachute) through the duct. As I used the shop vac on on end the bag+fishing line was not coming out, but I was getting a bunch of lint coming out. I went to the other end to try the same thing with the shop vac and got a ton of lint, but not the fishing line+bag until suddenly enough lint cleared that the bag and line came through. I used that to pull a strong string through and then attached the end of the string to the drill end of the vent cleaner rod. Once the end was sticking out, I attached the drill, turn it on, and slow started pulling. The result was miraculous. No bent segments, the pulled through seamlessly, and in the process brought out another ton more of lint (a lot of it went due to the ongoing condensation caused by restricted flow). The trick is to set the cleaner so that you can PULL it through no push it through the duct. New dryer is drying flawlessly. I plan to run the cleaner through the duct once every 6 months and use my shop vac once a month to gauge how frequently I need to clean the vent. Amazing results!

The dryer vent went under the house maybe 30 ft . I looked online and read the reviews for this tool. Honestly, I figured it wouldn’t work or would get stuck inside the pipe and break. I had planned for around 4 hrs to clean this vent and put the dryer vent back.( And time for anything that might go wrong) I used my dewalt drill. I put the tool together in the clients yard. Super easy. Didn’t even tape the sections. I did have someone help me guide the tool connections into the outside dryer vent while I was using the drill. It worked amazingly well. Didn’t break or get caught in the pipes. Granted these pipes were very solid vent pipes. Took half the time I figured it would. Five stars!! I also used my Milwaukee blower once I got all the lent loose with this tool. Only thing I would suggest is when taking it apart ,I did have to use two pairs of pliers. Fantastic tool. Well worth the $20!!!

As long as you run the drill in the correct direction, the individual pieces get tighter and never unscrew themselves. I did run into an issue where it got stuck but it worked itself free after awhile. Worked well to get a bunch of lint out of the lines.

Content: Highly recommend this vent cleaner. Easy to assemble just hook up to your drill. Feed it through the pipe and totally removed all the lint dust sand dirt. It actually came out in clumps. Ran it through maybe five times and now dryer indicates the blockage is completely unclogged. I will now proceed to do vents inside the house as it has smaller brush as well for that purpose. Absolutely works amazingly.

I read a lot of the reviews on this product before purchasing, with many people saying the flexible rods sheared off or broke, those reviews seem to be more along the lines of user error than issues with the tool itself. You should NOT use an impact or hammering drill with this set. You should operate your drill at low rpm, gently plunging further into the duct and removing it every ~6ft or so slowly so that debris/lint is exhausted and not piling up around the brush head. If you have sharp turns, you should do a test feed with your hand and this tool prior to attaching/running it with the drill. It's best to work from both sides of the duct if possible, rather than just one side, especially if your exhaust duct goes vertical.

You should operate your drill at low rpm, gently plunging further into the duct and removing it every ~6ft or so slowly so that debris/lint is exhausted and not piling up around the brush head. If you have sharp turns, you should do a test feed with your hand and this tool prior to attaching/running it with the drill. It's best to work from both sides of the duct if possible, rather than just one side, especially if your exhaust duct goes vertical.

The dryer vent went under the house maybe 30 ft . I looked online and read the reviews for this tool. Honestly, I figured it wouldn’t work or would get stuck inside the pipe and break. I had planned for around 4 hrs to clean this vent and put the dryer vent back.( And time for anything that might go wrong) I used my dewalt drill. I put the tool together in the clients yard. Super easy. Didn’t even tape the sections. I did have someone help me guide the tool connections into the outside dryer vent while I was using the drill. It worked amazingly well. Didn’t break or get caught in the pipes. Granted these pipes were very solid vent pipes. Took half the time I figured it would. Five stars!! I also used my Milwaukee blower once I got all the lent loose with this tool. Only thing I would suggest is when taking it apart ,I did have to use two pairs of pliers. Fantastic tool. Well worth the $20!!!

As long as you run the drill in the correct direction, the individual pieces get tighter and never unscrew themselves. Ran it through maybe five times and now dryer indicates the blockage is completely unclogged. I will now proceed to do vents inside the house as it has smaller brush as well for that purpose. Absolutely works amazingly.

I read a lot of the reviews on this product before purchasing, with many people saying the flexible rods sheared off or broke, those reviews seem to be more along the lines of user error than issues with the tool itself. You should NOT use an impact or hammering drill with this set. You should operate your drill at low rpm, gently plunging further into the duct and removing it every ~6ft or so slowly so that debris/lint is exhausted and not piling up around the brush head. If you have sharp turns, you should do a test feed with your hand and this tool prior to attaching/running it with the drill. It's best to work from both sides of the duct if possible, rather than just one side, especially if your exhaust duct goes vertical.

The rods are flexible and easily manipulated as they are connected to extend the length of the vent tubing. If you hit some resistance, most likely from a curve in the tubing, just keep manually turning the rods (before you connect the drill) and the rods will bend to the shape of the curve. You MUST remember to ensure you drill is turning clockwise or you will undo all the rods and you won’t be able to get them out of the vent tubing. But it works well and I was able to easily remove much lint and debris. Good product for the money spent.

I even blew out the duct using a gas powered blower which removed some lint (I thought it removed it all). A year later the washer went out (it was a stackable unit) and we bought a new washer/dryer stack. We thought we bought a lemon because there was a ton of condensation coming out of the dryer vent and it was taking forever to dryer. Enter the Dryer Vent Cleaner Kit. I bought this 8 months ago thinking at some point I would clean out the little bit of lint that was in the ducting. The day the new dryer was installed I removed the dryer to access the vent. I inserted the dryer cleaner which pulled out a few large clumps of lint, but then stopped 1/3 of the way through (leaving one of the 1' connectors twisted - much like some have posted pictures of). I then went to the other end of the line and did the same thing removing more lint, but stopping 1/3 of the way through. I thought "Great, I cleared the vent!" That evening dryer loads were still taking forever to dry (never really drying) and condensation around the vent was off the charts. At this point I realized that I need to run this cleaner through the entire line. Instead of push it through which creates the twisting of the segments and would never go all the way through for me, I decide to pull it through. To do this I had a pull a string through the vent then tape the end of the segments that connects to the drill and pull that through until the brush it at the beginning of the vent. I watched a video by an electrician who showed how to suck a fishing line with a small plastic bag (like a parachute) through the duct. As I used the shop vac on on end the bag+fishing line was not coming out, but I was getting a bunch of lint coming out. I went to the other end to try the same thing with the shop vac and got a ton of lint, but not the fishing line+bag until suddenly enough lint cleared that the bag and line came through. I used that to pull a strong string through and then attached the end of the string to the drill end of the vent cleaner rod. Once the end was sticking out, I attached the drill, turn it on, and slow started pulling. The result was miraculous. No bent segments, the pulled through seamlessly, and in the process brought out another ton more of lint (a lot of it went due to the ongoing condensation caused by restricted flow). The trick is to set the cleaner so that you can PULL it through no push it through the duct. New dryer is drying flawlessly. I plan to run the cleaner through the duct once every 6 months and use my shop vac once a month to gauge how frequently I need to clean the vent. Amazing results!
