The metal nozzle is long enough that when my husband uses on the smoker (we don’t like pellet smokers) it is enough to not have to open the damper door and can get the proper angles needed. The wood adds a nice look and feel to the design. The hole at the top to draw in the air is large enough to get the job done and each pump can fully inflate the bellow. Using this is so much each to direct the air pockets where you need them and where they will be the most impactful. Highly recommend for any pit masters and any wood burning fireplaces
