Content: To be such a small rod, it is not flimsy at all and the retention mechanism is very strong. I am handicapped and bought two of these so I can curtain off under my kitchen sink and microwave counter when I am not using the area. There are no cabinets there for wheelchair access. I purchased some room darkening curtains and will have them cut off and hemmed to fit each space. It will be nice to have the few things stored under my microwave and the sink plumbing hidden away when folks come to visit.

My fault that it bent in the middle -- I had the tension rod adjusted very tightly into the doorframe but caught the curtain when entering carrying stuff, and the rod was pulled hard and bent. Content: This item is grossly misrepresented in the description. If you connect the two poles together the minimum length is 29.5 inches, and if you use just one of the rods (by removing the bumper from the second rod) you get a minimum of just barely over 16 inches. When the two rods are put together there is nothing to keep them connected but the tension you place on the rod when it is fully in place, as a result it is difficult to put the item up because the two rods disconnect from each other constantly. I was looking for a tension rod with a minimum of 28 inches to fit perfectly in the space I set out and this item doesn't accommodate that measurement. In order to fit the space I needed I had to use just the one rod and expand it to fit the 28.5 inch space which made the rod extremely flimsy and is unlikely to hold a lightweight curtain. Don't waste your money on this item. You can find a better tension rod for a much cheaper price elsewhere. This item would be somewhat worth the money if there was an honest description of the item, and a picture of how the item actually looks when the two rods are put together.

Content: I got this to hang a doorway curtain for separating my wife’s office to give her privacy. It works well however it’s not heavy duty. It is easy to use and functions well. If your using this for something simple it works great.

Content: I was pleasantly surprised. when I pulled it out of the box I thought "Goodness this is going to be to weak". Well I am wrong. It is very sturdy and is holding two doorway curtains and tiebacks and hasn't slipped yet. I was so happy with the results I bought two more. I am happy to say they are doing equally as well in my other doorways. I highly recommend them!
